Safely Update Existing Contacts

Before starting: create and verify an immediate database backup. This updater changes existing contacts by Contact ID. Blank CSV cells are left unchanged.

Safety Rules

  1. The CSV must contain Contact ID.
  2. Only supported contact fields can be updated; interaction and timestamp columns are ignored.
  3. Unknown or invalid IDs stop the update.
  4. Duplicate rows for one Contact ID are consolidated when their contact values agree.
  5. Conflicting duplicate rows and scientific-notation phone numbers stop the update.
  6. Nothing is saved until you review the preview and explicitly confirm it.
